Don't get attached to the person you are even at this moment. The person you may become resides in the next breath you take if God allows it. Life literally changes in the blink of an eye. Like riding on a roller-coaster, it can ascend slowly from level ground to great heights followed by rapid descents to gruesomely winding lows. Metaphorically, our heels never find rest. Each breath brings about new plights that require God's grace and the new mercies we see daily.

In the book of James, the bible asserts that we who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money”, have no earthly idea what the morrow will bring. "What is your life?", the bible asks rhetorically and answers, "You are but a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes." Instead, we ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”

Understanding now, that our bodies are temporal hosts for life in this world, let’s release the past, embrace the moment, just for the moment, and pursue the narrow path of righteousness that leads to what’s next.
